Since you chose to read more, you must be bored enough to read on. So I’ll give some information and facts about the creation of this visual novel. Today’s topic is choosing fictional characters.

Soon you will be seeing more characters from anime series outside “Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya”. We plan to expand the “Doujin just based on one anime series” into a doujin that covers more wide area of the Fictional Universe.

Sounds similar to some Disney game? Indeed it does.

We are trying to create a original storyline while maintaining each anime series’s storyline unchanged. Thus, it creates some restrictions to characters that you can use. The restrictions is why you see Kanata Izumi, Fuuko Ibuki and Saya Minatsuki in the visual novel.  If you had seen the anime these trios come from, you would notice a common thing; they are either dead or in coma. What happens to anime characters that are dead? Sure, they don’t show up in the anime anymore, but does that mean their existence is erased forever? Doesn’t fans sigh because they want to see more of these characters?

The universe that this game is set on will create and show what happens to these characters when they are done with their roles in their original series.

There is a world that all beings end up in when they are dead. This World is infinitely large so that it can house all the deceased beings arriving from various different worlds forever and ever. It is simply called, The “World of the Dead”. Center of this world exists a magnificent temple that contains all the history and secrets of the universe. However we will not get into the topic of what kind of information exists in this temple now. Topic is what happened to characters like Kanata, Fuuko or Saya?

When these characters die, they end up in the World of The Dead. Death is the most simple form of dimensional travel. Normally, this form of travel will just end as it sends you to the World of the Dead. However, in some cases during the travel, mutation occurs. Let me clarify that this is not the kind of mutation that is all gooey and hideous. This mutation occurs in the individuals being. After the mutation, these beings will acquire an ability to access their emotions and feelings and actually use them as source of power. In addition, they will gain the power to travel to many alternative worlds. These beings are named “Sliders,” or “Other worlders”.

Of course, the description above fits with Saya and Kanata who are both deceased. How does the above apply with Fuuko? She is not dead, she’s in coma.

Well, the being close to death can trigger some of the effects that death triggers. (well you are close to death right?) So your being would be in both World of the Dead and your respective world. These beings are called “half beings”. Usually these half beings have low chance of mutation. (Mutation is referred to by sliders as “chosen”.) In the society of the World of the Dead, these beings are mostly discriminated because they are still alive, not only that, they are embedded with a special technology that will erase all their memories of their life during the time that they were coma.

So summarizing what I wrote above here is some pointers.

-Death = Dimension travel = ends up in “World of the Dead.”

-Deathly Coma = Half Dead = Dimension travel = “World of the Dead.”

-Dimension Travel = Possibility of Mutation = Sliders

-Yes it sounds like crazy fantasy, but that is what fiction is.-

We are finished with Chapter 1. However reconstructing the Character images still has to be done. In the site there were many different discussions, and I think we are on the right direction.

Also, we are in desperate need of more artisits, that way. Character image reconstruction can be finished faster.

We currently have many people helping us and there are always room for more.

First of all, we have changed the Visual Novel making engine from Blade to Ren’py for more compatibility. We already finished transferring everything we had from blade to ren’py and now working on finishing up chapter 1.

Prolouge was already completed long ago and it is currently in the stage of adding voice, thanks to all the Voice Actors who are helping out.

On the story wise, we are quarter way through the storyline of chapter 2. The chapters will be longer from now on.

The plan for the storyline is that everyone will work on the senario paths of first week together. The first week of the game will be like this

Monday- Afterschool: Tanabata Festival: Fireworks show
Tuesday- Afterschool: Film “Revenge of Nagato Yuki”
Wednesday- Clubroom: No events, peaceful day
Thursday- Clubroom: Haruhi brings first year students to recruit them into SOS brigade(No one joins)
Friday- Afterschool: Arcade
Saturday- Afterschool: Golfing
Sunday- Search the city for mysterious events

After that Senario writers are free to lead the path they desire. Thats where individual Character Senario writers come in.

As for arts, we have few talented artists working on some original images. However, It would be much easier on current artists if we had more artists to take the load off our current ones.

I did make a preview video for the opening but, otherwise I haven’t got anyone that can help with the opening video yet.

Well, I am hoping this will be a fun collaboration of Kyoani fans because the characters are all from Kyoto Animation. Also, this project is purely fanmade and the end result Visual Novel wil lbe free to download.

First, the time and date…

this story starts a at the two days before the Tanabata festival. It’s Saturday and since there is no school on Sunday, Haruhi has planned a brigade event for the next day.

Haruhi has been obsessed with dimensional Sliders lately. Since John Smith said that he saw Alien, Time-Traveler and Esper before, but not a Slider, Haruhi wants to find a being that no one has seen yet. (Maybe she somehow wants to surpass John Smith). Haruhi’s obsession with sliders creates a faction of sliders.

Information below would be considered a fan fiction, since I know that original Haruhi Story will be way different than this.

Slider Philosophy

Universe is divided into two main Worlds, Real World and Fictional World. It is impossible to travel between Real and Fictional World. Fictional World itself is divided into many of different worlds and traveling within the Fictional World is difficult but possible.

Information Regarding Sliders

-Sliders are from another Fictional Worlds and are usually the beings who has experienced death.

-Because of them being dead, they cannot go back to their own respective Fictional World. Even if they do go back, they don’t have any meaningful existence there. Aka. Ghost.

-Sliders are all united as a Slider’s Organization.

-Every time a dimensional travel occurs, all memories regarding the world that traveler is sliding into will be locked. It can be unlocked with various different methods. Usually when time goes by memory will be slowly unlocked.

-Sliders usually watch over their assigned Fictional World in case of dimension quakes, this is when something equivalent of a fissure appears and a thing or a being falls down through that dimensional fissure, never to be seen again. No one knows what happens to things that fall down. Also no being has fallen down that fissure yet, thanks to the diligent works of Sliders.

-Sliders can also gain access to Closed Space, or Data Space that Aliens create. However, these minimal traveling don’t cause a memory lock. Sliders can’t travel through time.

Sliders regarding Haruhi Suzumiya

Three years ago, on Tanabata, a strange event happened. Dimensional traveling has been disabled between every Fictional Worlds. Many Sliders became stranded thanks to this. However, still able to communicate with each other, sliders noticed that center of the problem is Haruhi Suzumiya. Making matters even worse, whenever Haruhi Suzumiya is depressed, a dimensional quake occurs. Sliders have been dealing with these ever frequently occurring dimensional quakes for many years. However, recently the amount of quakes has decreased after the event where Haruhi Suzumiya and Kyon escaped from a Closed Space.

Sliders have not revealed themselves to Kyon, or to Aliens, Time-travelers and Espers, because they don’t think it’s necessary. Aliens achieving auto-evolution or Time-travelers traveling further back in time or Espers dealing with Closed Space is none of slider’s concern. They only revealed themselves to Tsuruya-san’s family, who gave them a place to stay.

Alan’s arrival.

Alan’s arrival is special, this is because he comes from the Real World, which everyone thought impossible. Also, traveling between dimensions has been disabled for a long time. There is a possibility that being from the real world, he might possess special characteristics. Before sliders could get in touch with him, he was discovered by Haruhi Suzumiya first. Memory lock effect seems to be present on Alan.

Cough… well that’s the background story that I came up with. I know that it’s a wordfull. Know that Real World is our world, and Alan has read and watched Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya.

Path Split will occur when Alan enrolls at North High on Tanabata’s day. He will be assigned to class 2-5, Haruhi and Kyon’s class.

Choose what you want to work with

Following are the paths that I want to work with, so if you want to help with scenario, choose a path that you want to work with.

-Continuation Path(Continues on to the next world)(I’m working on this)

All the other paths will end in Haruhi’s world. Also they will all have their good and bad endings, have fun making the story up.

-Nagato path (Harouki)

-Mikuru path (MartialArtsMaster)

-Haruhi path (Kite Impulse)

*Next paths will only available when three paths above are taken.

-Itsuki path

-Kyon path

Also your story will have to start the day after Tanabata. Since you will be making a choice on which path to choose mostly on the Tanabata day.

in the script directly from the game, it looks like this…

This is a format that I would expect.

First of all, label all the characters like so.

and so on, narration is Alan speaking. I know that, so just don’t label the narration. If it’s Alan actually speaking then label the dialogue.

Also keep in mind that there are limited resources until we get artists. Otherwise keep in mind which scenes from the Anime or which fan art can be used in your scenario. (If you want to, you can go through the anime and look for the possible character vectors.)

For example, there is not much Tsuruya-san pictures to work with on the anime, I also haven’t seen many decent Tsuruya-san fan arts. So making too much Tsuruya scenes would be difficult.

Otherwise, have fun writing them. I guess, post a comment on which path scenario you want and I will update this post to indicated that the scenario is taken.

This will be a purely fan made Visual Novel… so something like a fan fiction I guess, with visuals.
Worlds of Haruhi Suzumiya:(Temoary title)

Solid title isn’t decided yet.
It will be a interesting game since it will deal with lots of factors that Haruhi fans have created, one of them being the Genderbending Haruki Series. I am currently working on the main route storyline. When I am finished that I can start adding lots of different paths.

Ever wanted to travel to Haruhi’s world? The narrator in this Visual novel will travel into Haruhi’s world and be part of all the weird events going on.
-Later, I might try to make this game so, at the beginning you can choose to play as either Kyon or the new dimension traveler. To do this though, I need a good artist… so when you play as Kyon you can see the new character as Kyon.

Also there is more to this visual novel than just the world of Haruhi… since the narrator in this game comes from another world you can expect that dimension travels will take place in this story.

For now I am planning to make this game in three sections.

Prolouge Story
Highschool student who is really bored of his life suddenly finds himself at a whole new environment. He meets with a weird girl named Haruhi Suzumiya.

Narrator

Narrator of this Visual Novel. He’s notoriously Lazy and he loves to drink milk. He is always wearing his necklace as it is a gift from a really good friend. (I dunno who’s the artist that drew this picture but it fit so perfectly that I had to use this picture.)

First of all if there is an artists interested in making a vector for the characters it would be cool. Otherwise I can try using screenshots from animes all the way.

For the endings.. with the credits rolling. There will be many different endings. and opening video. If I can’t get any I’ll just use Bouken Desho Desho..
Writers
Soon enough, the story will split into many different paths, it would be much more time saving if there are people writing senarios for each differnt paths.
Paths will conceren with each characters. E.g Haruhi path, Mikuru path, Nagato path….etc
